6th Grade Band

Welcome to 6th Grade Band! This is where your musical journey begins. In this class, you'll join other students in learning how to play an instrument and perform as a group. You'll get to explore the world of music, from reading notes and rhythms to creating beautiful sounds with your friends.

Most of our class time is spent in like-instrument groups. This means that all the flutes will meet at the same time, all the trumpets will meet together, and so on.

Meeting in these smaller, more focused groups allows us to tackle the specific challenges and techniques of each instrument. Your teacher can give you more individual attention to help you perfect your posture, fingerings, and sound. You'll work on exercises and songs that are tailored specifically for your instrument. We are extremely fortunate to have the resources to give such individualized instruction!
