The Concert Band is a non-auditioned ensemble that focuses on the refinement of fundamental skills necessary to perform both as an ensemble and individually. Rehearsals are focused on enjoying the process and making great music together. We perform a variety of pieces, from traditional wind band literature to contemporary music, ensuring there's something for everyone. This group meets during 1st Period and is comprised of students from Grades 9-12.
In addition, students will perform in a variety of ensembles, such as pep band, brass/woodwind choir, and percussion ensemble. For a description of these ensembles, please see below.
All students enrolled in Concert Band participate in pep band. This group performs during 2-3 Home Varsity Football games, the Homecoming Parade, and a Pep Tour of the Clayton Elementary Schools.
The CHS Pep Band is the heartbeat of Clayton spirit! We're the group that brings the energy, excitement, and hype to all home football games. Our job is to fire up the crowd, cheer on our teams, and create an unforgettable atmosphere that makes every game a home-field advantage.
